Skellig Michael: Taking Flight

Just another shot of a puffin at Skellig Michael. This one was getting ready to take off high above the ocean.
Ring of Kerry

Towards the end of our trip we stopped off at the Ring of Kerry in Ireland. This is the epitome Ireland. Blue clouded sky casting dapple shadows over green farmland flowing into the ocean. Definitely one of the best views.
Skellig Michael: Clinging Beauty

Skellig Micheal was truly an epic place. Though super rocky and out in the middle of the ocean, it still had so much beauty. Everywhere you look were these flowers that clung to the rock faces.
Skellig Michael: More Puffins!

Here are a couple more puffin shots from Skellig Michael. I could easily have spent all day taking pictures of just puffins.
Skellig Michael: Anticipation

We shared the boat to Skellig Michael with some furry friends as well as the human kind. They were true sea dogs and loved the trip.
Skellig Michael: Feel the Light

I feel like it is hard to take a bad picture of a Puffin. The seem to have such personality.
Skellig Michael: Skellig Rising

As we got closer to the island, more, and more details emerged. Including the fact that it had is very own cloud that stayed perpetually above it.
Skellig Michael: Out of the Mists

We took a boat out to visit Skellig Michael, and it was as dramatic as you would hope. With the island slowly becoming visible through the mist.
Skellig Michael: Puffin Up Close and Personal

This past Summer, we took a trip to Scotland and Ireland. While in Ireland we got the chance to visit Skellig Michael. Yes, the island where the latest Star Wars films were shot. One of the amazing features of this island (and the reason there were Porgs in the films) are the Puffins. They were EVERYWHERE and you could get so close to them. It was by far one of my favorite places in Ireland.
